Who We Are

R2 is a collaborative network of organisations working to strengthen communities, share knowledge and support positive change in North Edinburgh.

WHO IS INVOLVED

Local third sector organisations, community groups and partners committed to reducing poverty, ending discrimination and building a compassionate, thriving area.

WHERE DO WE WORK

WHY DO WE EXIST

To amplify community voices, influence systems and policy, and support organisations to work together for long-term change.

WHEN DO WE MEET

Members connect through regular network meetings, working groups and our online Community Lab.

Member Expectations

Participate

We recognise not each organisation has the same capacity to contribute. However, we expect members to contribute how and when they can.

Our vision, mission and values are reflected in how we work with each other. We ask members to agree to -

Collaborate

With honesty and respect.

Pro-Active

Bring ideas, concerns and wishes to meetings, updates and the online community lab.

Communicate

With honesty and respect.

Respect

Each others’ knowledge and expertise.

Consensus

Work towards consensus.

Share

Their knowledge and understanding.

Agreed collective positions

Promote R2 and any agreed collective positions the network holds.

Community voices

Listen and respond to community voices.

Empowerment & opportunities

Be empowered to explore any opportunities for the network, and bring any decisions back for discussion and decisions.

Development Group

Development Group holds governance and operational responsibility for the network. As such it is a permanent group. Members of the development group must be full members of R2. Nominations to the development group will be sought each year. No one organisation can hold more than one space on the Development Group. Development group members can speak for the network, submit funding applications on behalf of the membership and the co-ordinator reports to the Development Group.
